Mashayla Hays (she/they) is a Legal Counsel. Mashayla received their bachelor’s degree in Pan-African Studies and J.D. from the University of Louisville and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from Northwestern University. Before joining the Lawyering Project, Mashayla was a Legal Fellow with the ACLU of Kentucky and an If/When/How Reproductive Justice Fellow for the Women’s Law Project and New Voices for Reproductive Justice, dedicating their legal career to high-impact litigation centering equal access to reproductive healthcare and advocating for reproductive justice policies on the state and federal levels.
