Anita Yandle

Legal Fellow

Anita Yandle (she/they) is a Legal Fellow. Before joining the Lawyering Project, she was a Justice Catalyst Fellow at Public Justice, where she litigated civil rights and worker rights cases on the Access to Justice team. During law school, Anita worked at the United Nations in both the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean and in the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals, and at the American Civil Liberties Union in the National Prison Project. She also was a student attorney in the Human Rights Clinic with the Clooney Foundation for Justice, and was a recipient of the Davis Polk Leadership Initiative Grant for her work founding the Abortion Decriminalization Project. Anita received her B.A. from the University of Washington and her J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she was a Kent Scholar, Stone Scholar, and recipient of the Parker School Certificate of Achievement in International and Comparative Law. Before law school, Anita was a civil rights lobbyist and a board member of the Community Abortion Information and Research Project, through which role she co-founded the Northwest Abortion Access Fund.

Anita is licensed to practice law in the state of Washington and the District of Columbia.
