Maya received her B.A. from the University of Southern California and her J.D. from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. Before joining the Lawyering Project, she clerked for Justice Fabiana Pierre-Louis of the New Jersey Supreme Court. During law school, she interned with the Cook County Public Defender’s Office and the Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation (CAASE). She was also a student attorney in Northwestern’s Immigration Clinic and was a volunteer with the Northwestern Prison Education Program. She currently serves as a volunteer mediator with the Chicago Center for Conflict Resolution.
Maya is licensed to practice law in Illinois.
