Liliam Clavijo Hernandez is a Legal Fellow with the Pro Bono Initiatives team. Before starting her fellowship at the Lawyering Project, Liliam was a Legal Fellow at Women’s Law Project, a gender justice nonprofit that defends and protects the rights of women, girls, and LGBTQIA+ individuals in Pennsylvania. There, she represented clients in employment discrimination matters, worked on federal litigation that challenged the conditions of confinement for a pregnant woman forced to give labor while shacked, and created resource guides for individuals whose nonconsensual intimate images were shared online.
Liliam received her B.A. in political science from the University of Florida and her J.D. from the University of Michigan. During law school, Liliam worked as a student attorney with the Civil Rights Litigation Initiative Clinic, where she represented clients who experienced unlawful discrimination. Liliam also served as an Executive Editor for the Michigan Journal of Race and Law and served as the co-president of Michigan Law’s ACLU chapter. In law school, she interned at Public Rights Project and the Public Interest Law Center.
Liliam is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.
